   Mensa e-SIGs.

This SIGs list shows Mensa "virtual" SIGs -- the new SIGs for the 21st century. No dues, no costs, no trees wasted for newsletters. All meetings are virtual. New Mensa SIGs for the new century.

Members of any national Mensa group may join any SIG in any Mensa group anywhere. If you're a member of Hong Kong Mensa, you can join M-Number-6, which is a SIG of American Mensa. If you're a stamp collector in Canada you're very welcome to join M-Philatelics, a SIG
of British Mensa.

In fact, the two co-chairmen and moderators of the M-Anime SIG, for those who enjoy the Japanese anime/manga art form, are a Mensa woman in Germany and a Mensa guy in Brasil... and the SIG itself is part of British Mensa! M-Number-6, for fans of Patrick McGoogle's classic British tv series, "The Prisoner," is headed by an American Mensan living in Geneva.

Joining a SIG of another country's Mensa is not rare, but it's not particularly commonplace. In the 21st century, Web-based e-SIGs will make Mensa truly global, possibly helping futher international understanding, particularly among Mensans. Virtual SIGs aren't constricted by national boundaries. They're very much a part of Tim Bernier-Lee's original vision for the World Wide Web, first expressed in his original memorandum at CERN in Geneva.

This list of new virtual SIGs is only for accredited virtual SIGs. It is not open to unofficial Mensa e-lists. Newly-formed virtual SIGs may ask to be included in this list after being approved by national Mensa; the address for enquiries is siglist@carlin.org.uk .

M-TheAvengers SIG

British television series, "The Avengers"

M-Buffy SIG
[This is a sig in formation; a third moderator is needed before the group is officially announced. For information, contact BuffySIG@NapsterNet.com or virtual.sigs@WebsiteIdeas.net .] This is a SIG for fans of Buffy, the Vampire Slayer and Sarah Michelle Geller. Buffy herself is not a member of Mensa's Sunnydale, California group, but she may have attended some meetings and events with Giles (played by Tony Head, the British actor), who is definitely a Mensa member in his role as Buffy's watcher and protector.

M-Riders SIG
The M-Riders SIG has been around for about 20 years, making it one of the oldest Mensa SIGs. M-Riders is comprised of people with an interest in motorcycles or motorcycling. Most members are in the USA, but we actively seek members from all over the world.
